Very ancient autochthonous variety from Southern Italy, it might have been introduced by the Greeks at the time of the construction of their colonies in the Magna Graecia about 3,000 years ago. All grapes used in the production of this wine come from our vineyards.
CERTIFICATIONS: Organic wine – Certified by Bioagricert.
GROWING SYSTEM: Espalier
SOIL: Calcareous with much skeleton, flat land.
YIELD: 100 quintals/ha
HARVEST PERIOD: End of October, early November
Harvest period: End of October, early November. PRODUCTION: Grapes are harvested perfectly ripe in terms of aromas and phenols and promptly sent to the winery. Made with the traditional red vinification, the fermentation is carried out in steel tanks with long skin maceration under controlled fermentation temperature.
REFINEMENT: In steel tanks and French oak barrique.
ALCOHOL CONTENT:13,5 % vol. minimum
Tasting notes: COLOUR – violet; SCENT – winy, with spicy notes, intense of berries; TASTE – full-bodied, with dense tannins, fresh, with long and tasty finale.
PAIRING: Excellent with roasted red meats, sauces, mature cheeses.
SERVING TEMPERATURE: 16-18°C.
